Movember professional photo shoot with Eric Jetner and a sneak peek on the Bearded Project
New York - In the last two months I have been busy taking 80 portraits of the most stunning men of New York and their bearded faces. A professional photo shoot after another, I have been through a lot of portraits and I have met a lot of interesting people.
Although I already have lots of portrait of different men, my adventure is far from over. I am looking for more bearded faces and I am prepared for more professional photo shoots. New York is just the perfect place.
I don't mind to admit I am a visually greedy photographer. Today I have more than 170 New York applicants that want to be part of this photography project and I am collecting more interesting New York faces (You can apply).

While I still can't disclose the images from the collection, which I am bound by Agreement to keep secret for a little longer, I am glad to share some images of the stunning bearded men that populated my studio in the latest weeks.
Here you can see the talented Eric Jetner and his ginger beard. Eric is a fun French New Yorker, rocking the town with his friendly attitude and his awesome voice. The first time I heard him sing (and dance), a couple of weeks ago, my jaw literarily dropped. He's one of those nice surprises that the New York offers to you when you need inspiration.

Why a photo project about bearded men?
Similarly to my portrait photography exhibition about Burqas, (in which I exhibited people wearing burqas in the crypt of a church in Central London), I use the beard to explore gender and masculinity, how they translate into images and what's lost in translation.
Simply put: I think through images and need images to think.

Greg Salvatori is an award winning photographer, artist and author based in Upper West Side, New York. His latest photo book, BEARDS OF NEW YORK, was featured in magazines and publications in more than 30 countries.
